Colombia is set to increase its avocado exports to the US, reaching 130 million pounds during the 2025 spring-summer cross-season. With the maturation of orchards and expansion of production, the country aims to meet the growing demand for avocados in the US. Since gaining USDA approval in 2017, the Colombian avocado industry has seen annual growth, particularly with the main harvest season from September to February and the cross-season from March to August. The majority of the fruit will be shipped to East Coast ports, with a variety of sizes available. The industry's success relies not only on favorable weather conditions but also on the adoption of new rootstocks specific to Colombian growing conditions.
