The Brazilian government has approved the export of dried distiller's grains (DDG or DDGS) to Colombia. This by-product of corn ethanol production is used as a protein and energy source in feed for various animals and aquaculture. The production of DDG does not require additional land, making it efficient in the use of natural resources. This authorization is part of Brazil's broader strategy, with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) working together to expand agribusiness opportunities, leading to 105 openings and 183 authorizations in 58 destinations since 2023.
