Brazil: Colombia opens market for export of dried distiller's grains

The Brazilian government welcomed the Colombian government's announcement that Brazil has been authorized to export dried distiller's grains, known as DDG or DDGS, to that country. The input is a protein and energy source used in the production of feed for ruminants, pigs, poultry, fish and shrimp. DDG/DDGS are generated from the production of corn ethanol in the second harvest. The crop is planted in the same area as the main harvest, after its harvest and in the same agricultural year. Therefore, it does not require additional land for cultivation, which results in better use of natural resources.
