Colombian avocados are aiming to expand their presence in the Asian market, particularly in South Korea, with plans to significantly increase exports after a successful operational work plan in 2021. Officials from the Quarantine Agency Animal and Vegetable Korea (APQA) are set to visit Colombian production sites and packing plants to verify compliance with phytosanitary measures, aiming to validate all strategies and certification systems in order to strengthen ties between both countries and generate greater trust among phytosanitary authorities. The Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) is hopeful that the visit will yield positive results and lead to an increase in the volume of Colombian avocado exports to South Korea.
