The House of Deputies' Finance and Taxation Committee approved Bill 2213/25, which authorizes the use of up to R$ 500 million in uncommitted resources from the Guarantee Fund for Operations (FGO) to cover credit operations contracted under the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf). The proposal amends Law 13,999/20, which created emergency credit lines during the pandemic, and provides that the use of the resources will observe the rules already established by the fund's statute. According to the text, it will be up to a joint act of the ministers of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture and of Finance to define how the resources will be allocated, in addition to establishing the maximum guarantee limits, the eligibility criteria for family farmers and cooperatives, and the modalities of Pronaf that may receive coverage from the FGO.
