Conab projects 177.6 million tons of soybeans in the 25/26 crop; rains accelerate planting in part of the country

Brazilian soybean production in the 2025/26 season is expected to reach 177.64 million tons, an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous cycle, when 171.48 million tons were harvested. The data is part of the 1st survey of the grain crop, released this week by the National Supply Company (Conab). The estimate indicates a planted area of 49.07 million hectares, an increase of 3.6% over the 47.35 million recorded in 2024/25. The average productivity was projected at 3,620 kilograms per hectare, virtually stable compared to the previous cycle (3,622 kilograms/ha). The September rains in the Center-South of the country favored the beginning of sowing, which already reached 11.1% of the expected area, slightly above what was observed in the same period of the past cycle. In Mato Grosso and Paraná, the main producing states, planting reached 18.9% and 31% of the area, respectively, in the first ten days of October.
