The National Supply Company (Conab) announced this Friday (7) the release of R$ 67 million to encourage the marketing of up to 250 thousand tons of wheat from the 2024/25 crop in the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná. The objective is to reduce the pressure on prices and guarantee income for producers, given the current quotation of the cereal below the minimum value established by the federal government. The president of Conab, Edegar Pretto, made the announcement in Porto Alegre. According to him, the support will be applied through the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM). The plan provides for the marketing of up to 148 thousand tons in Rio Grande do Sul and 102 thousand tons in Paraná – the main wheat-producing states in the country.
