Conab technicians research the numbers for the next Brazilian grain harvest in the field

Fieldwork has already begun to reveal the estimated figures for the 1st Grain Survey for the 2024/2025 Harvest. From September 23 to 27, technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) will be visiting the country's fields and conducting research to gather information and draw up the first estimates of production, area and productivity. The data will be collected in all producing states, with field trips to Santa Catarina, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Pará and Alagoas. In addition to the in-person survey, the Conab team also conducts remote consultations with collaborating agents linked to the sector in each state, such as producers, cooperatives, public and private technical assistance entities, input sales and marketing companies, among others. The data is also complemented by crop georeferencing, in which Conab uses satellite images to assist in the analysis of productivity and area size.
