The Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development has credited the stabilization of food prices to a combination of positive agricultural production assessments, seasonal factors, and government actions. The government is actively monitoring price changes in socially significant goods and taking necessary measures to stabilize them. This comes in the wake of a significant drop in domestic agricultural production in 2020 due to unfavorable weather conditions, which led to increased production costs and price hikes in consumer goods like sugar and oil. High price pressure from the energy market and global agricultural market dynamics have also contributed to a average global increase in food prices by a third between 2020 and 2021.
