In 2025, there have not yet been any cases of questioning the quality of cucumbers imported from outside the EU, according to data on border controls conducted by the Inspection of the Quality of Agricultural and Food Products (IJHARS). This year, there has been a lot of talk about cucumbers flooding the Polish market from imports (especially from Russia). Meanwhile, Poland is the second largest producer of these vegetables in the European Union, after Spain, and domestic farmers are obviously suffering losses. As IJHARS emphasizes, cucumbers imported into the domestic market, originating from non-EU countries and introduced into circulation in the EU, must meet all the quality requirements specified in the regulations.
