[Hankuk Nong-eomin Newspaper, Reporter Gu Jeong-min] The 'Soil Amendment Joint Spraying Support Project' launched by Namwon City, Jeollabuk-do to resolve the rural labor shortage and improve soil quality is being embroiled in successive controversies on site, causing damage to the project's credibility. This year, Namwon City invested over 200 million won in the project, which involves jointly spraying 65,000 or more packs (20 kg each) of silicate and lime fertilizer at the village level. The city provided 800 won per pack in spraying fees to the selected joint spraying agents, with the goal of resolving the labor shortage due to aging and maximizing the effect of soil improvement. However, as the project progressed, issues such as leaving unsprayed quantities, writing confirmation documents without the consent of farmers, and managing agents have emerged.
