Spain: Cooperatives call for calm in the olive oil market

The Agro-Food Cooperatives of Spain want to vindicate the continuous commercial effort of the cooperative companies, which work for the benefit of the profitability of their producer partners. In this context, we consider unjustified the statements of some UPA leaders who directly attack the cooperatives and, by extension, many of their cooperative members. At this time of the campaign, the fundamental activity of the cooperatives, rather than the sale of oil, is focused on serving their farmer partners in the reception and processing of the olives that are being harvested. However, we observe that there are a large number of farmers who are making the individual decision to sell their oil.
