The US government has launched the AGRI-Ukraine initiative to support Ukrainian agricultural producers in 10 oblasts by providing them with free Dekalb brand corn seeds from Bayer for the 2024 spring planting. A total of 15,756 sowing units will be distributed, allowing eligible farms to receive up to 25 units each for sowing 25 hectares. This aid is aimed at farmers in front-line and affected areas, including Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. Farmers must register by April 21, 2024, to receive the seeds, which are intended for agricultural producers operating between 5 to 500 hectares. In addition to corn seeds, the FAO will also provide soybean and sunflower seeds to Ukrainian farmers, further supporting the agricultural sector in the region.
