Corn/USDA: USA sells 566.9 thousand tons of the 2023/24 harvest in the week

By Ana Ritti, with information from Dow Jones Newswires São Paulo, 09/21/2023 - United States exporters reported sales of 566.9 thousand tons of corn from the 2023/24 harvest in the week ending September 14, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently reported. The main buyers were Japan (197.3 thousand t), Mexico (131.7 thousand t), China (71.2 thousand t), undisclosed destinations (57.8 thousand t) and Colombia (45 thousand t), which offset cancellations in Jamaica (18 thousand t), El Salvador (3.2 thousand t) and Costa Rica (1.2 thousand t). For the 2024/25 harvest, no sales were reported. The total sold was close to the bottom of analysts' forecasts, which expected sales between 550 thousand tons and 850 thousand tons. ...
