Brazil is set to expand its agricultural export markets by adding Costa Rica, bringing the total to 167 markets. This announcement was made by Agriculture Minister Carlos Fávaro to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Costa Rica is a significant market for Brazilian agribusiness, with agricultural exports reaching US$153 million in the first half of this year. This marks the third market opening for Costa Rica in 2024, following permissions for exports of products based on mesenchymal stem cells and live horses. The government's goal is to reach 200 new markets within two years.
