Polish potato producers are expressing dissatisfaction with the low prices offered by potato starch plants, which are around 10 percent lower than the 2019/2020 season. This situation is attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in an oversupply of last season's stocks in both Poland and Europe. Additionally, excessive rainfall this season has led to the deterioration of potatoes, increasing their supply for processing and further driving down prices. The Ministry of Agriculture is monitoring the situation and will intervene if a crisis in the potato market is anticipated.
