Ireland: Consumers paid more for dairy products this November, according to CSO

The national average price for most dairy products rose in November this year compared to the same period last year, according to new data by the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The national average price for November shows an increase in milk prices per two litres by 13c to €2.31. There was also an increase of 23c/kg for Irish cheddar cheese to €10.69, and an increase of 5c/Ib for butter to €4.33. The data also shows increases in prices for a white sliced plan by 3c/800g to €1.61, and an increase in the price of potatoes by 18c/2.5kg to €3.89. The price of a striploin steak per kilogram increased from €22.12 in November 2023 to €23.40 this year. Meanwhile, the price per sirloin steak decreased slightly from €17.25/kg to 17.16/kg this year. Pork loin chops per kg increased from €8.78 last year to €9.26, while cooked ham per kg decreased slightly from €20.90 to €20.36.
