Cusco Will Install 30 Million Native Seedlings by 2027 to Confront Climate Change

Planting Life to Secure Water and Strengthen the Fight Against Climate Change! This is the strategy implemented by the Regional Government of Cusco, with an investment exceeding S/100 million, which will allow the installation of 30 million native seedlings of different species until the year 2027. For this purpose, the current regional management, led by Governor Werner Salcedo Álvarez, has implemented forest nurseries in different points of the region, with species such as q'euña, chachacomo, and q'olle, directly benefiting approximately 62,000 families and 585,000 people. Currently, the Regional Government, through the Regional Management of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, is working on the production of 5 million seedlings so that during the 2025-2026 forestation campaign, it contributes to the recovery of environmental quality in favor of present and future generations.
