After two years of strong expansion in the area cultivated with cassava in Brazil, the sector is expected to enter a period of adjustment in 2026, according to data released by Cepea. The movement was most intense precisely in states with a higher concentration of processing industries, which increased the availability of raw materials for the industrial park. Researchers from Cepea point out that, throughout 2025, the advancement of the first-cycle root harvest in certain periods helped to redesign the market balance. Combined with the expectation of lower productivity, this dynamic tends to better align the supply of cassava with the demand of industries in 2026. With the supply more adjusted to industrial consumption, the trend is for lower volatility in quotations throughout the year.
