The Department of Agriculture in the Philippines has reported that pork prices are beginning to return to normal in the markets, with the price of kasim now at PHP280 per kilo, down from a peak of PHP360 per kilo in January 2021. Liempo sells at PHP340 per kilo, which is also cheaper than its peak price in January 2021. The DA is continuing to assist pork producers and is providing financial assistance to backyard and semi-commercial raisers in "green zones" through its Agricultural Credit Policy Council. The DA is also implementing a hog repopulation program and has secured PHP42 billion for lending to commercial raisers in ASF-free areas, with support from agribusiness firms such as Univet and CP Foods.
