Between September 23 and 29, 2024, Poland experienced a notable shift in dairy product prices, with increases in butter and cheese prices due to higher global market prices and reduced domestic raw milk supplies. Specifically, butter prices rose by 1% weekly and 4% monthly, with block butter at PLN 31.71/kg and packaged butter at PLN 36.28/kg. Skimmed milk powder (SMP) prices increased by 3% weekly and 3.5% monthly, reaching PLN 11.11/kg, while whole milk powder (PMP) prices were 0.4% lower weekly but 4% higher monthly, at PLN 17.72/kg. Cheddar cheese prices saw a 6% decrease weekly but were 4.5% lower monthly and 23% higher yearly, at USD 4,652/t. Meanwhile, the Chicago Stock Exchange reported a decrease in butter prices by 8% weekly and 14% monthly, but increases in SMP and PMP prices by 19% and 24% yearly, respectively.
