REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Palm Oil Farmers Association (Apkasindo) has asked West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to open a dialogue with all parties, including farmers and palm oil workers, regarding the policy to prohibit the planting of palm oil and replace existing crops with other commodities. Deputy Chairman of Apkasindo for Communications Qayuum Amri stated in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday that the policy of West Java Governor, affectionately known as Kang Dedi Mulyadi or KDM, prohibiting the planting of palm oil and replacing it with other commodities is discriminatory and ignores the palm oil plantations that have existed in Bumi Pasundan for decades.
