Deepavali: The supply of eight main control items in Sarawak, Malaysia is sufficient

KUCHING: The supply of the eight main controlled items in the state in conjunction with the Deepavali festival is sufficient, said Chief Enforcement Officer of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs (KPDN) Sarawak Peter J Berinus Agang. The eight items are imported bone-in mutton, tomatoes, red chillies, coconut seeds, grated coconut, small shallots (India), imported large shallots and dal beans (Australia). All of the items, according to Peter, are listed under the Deepavali 2023 Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) in effect from November 9 to 15 nationwide. "Today we conducted a survey at the Mydin Samariang Supermarket to review the implementation of SHMMP Deepavali 2023 for seven days in effect from 9 to 15 November, which is three days before the festival, the day of the festival and three days after the festival.
