Egyptian mango cultivation is on the rise, with the country expecting to export over 60,000 tons despite local demand exceeding exports. The mango is the second largest fruit crop in Egypt, particularly in Upper Egypt and the west due to the tropical climate. The government is promoting the cultivation of various mango varieties through various campaigns and initiatives. However, exporters face challenges such as increasing production and shipping costs, climate changes, and differences in day and night temperatures. The main markets for Egyptian mangoes are Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Russia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belarus, and Canada. Amr Kadah of Fruit Kingdom is optimistic about the mango season and plans to expand into more markets and offer frozen and dried mango products.
