The COVID-19 pandemic and African swine fever are negatively impacting the demand for grains and oilseeds in Southeast Asia in 2020, leading to a decrease in consumption of wheat, corn, soy, and soy flour. The five countries in the region, which make up Southeast Asia, are experiencing a significant decline in feed consumption, with demand expected to decrease by 3.2% from the previous year. However, human consumption of major grains in Southeast Asia is expected to increase by 1.4% in 2020, and wheat imports to the region are also expected to grow by 1.4% in 2020.
