Demand for late niche berries is growing in Moldova

In early October, the harvesting of black chokeberry was completed in Moldova, and last week the mass harvesting of sea buckthorn and goji began. According to the preliminary estimates of farmers, the harvest in 2021 compared to the results of the dry last year will be higher by tens of percent. At the same time, the quality of dry niche berries was much less affected by fungal diseases that developed due to heavy rainfall on plantations of late strawberries and raspberries. Despite the noticeable increase in the supply of niche berries, the demand and prices for them in comparison with last year's level, according to the observations of the specialists of the Association of Berry Producers “Pomușoarele Moldovei”, are not decreasing.
