The Barza Plain in Denizli is facing a severe drought, drastically reducing crop productivity by up to 65 percent for barley, wheat, tobacco, and thyme. Farmers in the Tavas district's eight neighborhoods are struggling with much lower than normal rainfall, unable to recover planting costs, and are calling on authorities to declare the drought a disaster. The dire situation is evident as some farmers can't even fill their trailers with harvested crops.
