The Danish government presented the "Together for Animals" plan, consisting of 23 initiatives for the well-being of both companion and production animals, expected to be brought to Parliament for consensus. The plan includes initiatives such as promoting greater survival of piglets and sows, avoiding tail cutting, and providing anesthesia prior to castration of pigs, as well as promoting outdoor stables for bovine and supporting earlier elimination of cages in layers for poultry. The plan also aims to strengthen the National Animal Welfare Seal, impose stricter sanctions for non-compliance with animal welfare, and promote better methods of quantifying antibiotics in production animals.
