Derivatives from plants and a nod to the "boom" of the pecan nut: The Food Code starts December with new additions

Very frequently, the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT), together with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, introduce changes to the Argentine Food Code (CAA), the "law of laws" regarding consumption and commercialization within the world of gastronomy. Each new incorporation is generally the response to a particular request made by a company, a research organization, or a sectoral chamber, which also indicates what the market is looking at in terms of food trends. December begins with five new additions to this code, which, according to the Official Bulletin, will now include virgin palm oil, preserved caper leaves, aguaribay, olive leaves, and pecan nut, pecan oil, and pecan flour.
