A derogation request for the germination of flax seed for France were granted

The EU has granted a derogation request for the marketing of fiber flax seed with reduced germination capacity from France. This is due to a major shortage of seed with sufficient minimum germination capacity as a result of poor weather conditions, including extreme rainfall during cultivation. Reduced germination capacity In France, a quantity of linseed of 8,976 tonnes with a reduced germination rate of at least 85 percent may be marketed until June 30, 2024.
