A recent study by IERAL-Fundación Medriterránea and the Sociedad Rural del Noreste Santiagueño reveals that Argentina offers the most affordable beef prices in the region, compared to Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile. Conducted in January and February, the study showed that the average price of a basket of eight medium/high quality beef cuts in Argentina rose from 1,780 to 2,267 pesos per kilogram, while in Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile, the prices were higher at 2,009/kg, 2,606/kg, and 2,893/kg respectively. The report also highlights that the farm price will be influenced by consumer behavior and the impact on exports, as well as how farmers will adjust to the new conditions and climatic factors.
