By Anna Scabello São Paulo, 08/07/2025 - The value of the set of basic foods fell in 24 of the 27 capitals surveyed in November 2025, according to data released by the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese). The largest reductions were recorded in Macapá (-5.28%), Porto Alegre (-4.10%) and Maceió (-3.51%). The largest increases were recorded in Rio Branco (0.77%), Campo Grande (0.29%) and Belém (0.28%). According to Dieese, São Paulo remains the capital with the most expensive basket, costing R$ 841.23, followed by Florianópolis (R$ 800.68) and Cuiabá (R$ 789.98). The lowest values were found in the capitals of the North and Northeast, such as Aracaju (R$ 538.10) and Maceió (R$ 571.47). Based on the value of the most expensive basket, Dieese estimates monthly the minimum wage needed to cover the expenses of a family of four.
