The Mekong Delta regions in Vietnam have seen a diversification in fruit-growing areas, introducing more delicious foreign fruit trees and breeding new varieties to meet domestic and export demand. Despite the variety and abundant supply of fruits such as citrus, mango, jackfruit, and grapes, prices have sharply decreased due to increased supply and reduced export output caused by COVID-19. This has led to concerns among farmers about the future demand and prices of their produce. However, prices of certain fruits like soursop and Thai rambutan have remained stable or increased due to limited supply.
