Korea has begun exporting domestic paprika to China, a milestone achieved after 13 years of negotiations and a successful pilot shipment in August. The agreement on quarantine conditions last November has paved the way for this, with the first export totaling 1.7 tons. Exports to China are expected to range between 1-2 tons weekly, contributing to market diversification beyond Japan and potentially boosting exports from the current 90 million dollars to over 100 million dollars. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has emphasized the importance of maintaining quality control to enhance export competitiveness.
