Mango producers in the Dominican Republic are expecting a 15% increase in production for the upcoming season, reaching a total of 96,000 tons, with 39,000 tons expected to be exported. The increase is due to government support and efforts by private organizations. The country is planning to export mangoes to the United States, Spain, France, the UK, Costa Rica, and Panama. The Dominican Republic is known for producing various mango varieties and is now focusing on increasing the export of other products like avocado, pineapple, melon, and banana, mainly to North America and Europe. In 2022, the country surpassed Haiti in mango exports to the United States for the first time in 13 years, with 8,550 metric tons.
