On June 16, 2023, in Long Khanh City, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province organized a durian export ceremony, marking the shipment of 360 tons of the fruit across six enterprises. The durian varieties Dona and Ri6 were cultivated in 11,345 hectares across four districts and one city, leading Dong Nai in durian cultivation in the Southeast and fourth in the country. The province aims to further standardize production, promote the durian brand, and invest in the development of other fresh fruits for both domestic and international markets. Dong Nai currently has 140 growing areas and 82 packing facilities for export to countries including China, the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, with expectations to export 20,000 tons of durian in 2023.
