European analysts have revised the crop expectations for July down by 3 percent due to satellite images, with most plants having lower yields than the five-year average. However, spring barley, dry beans, and silage corn have surpassed expectations. At the EU level, soybean yield is around the five-year average, while sunflower yield is 5 percent below. The weather conditions in Europe have also impacted the crop results, with some areas experiencing very dry conditions and others heavy rainfall, leading to reduced yields for corn and rapeseed. The weather has also negatively affected spring-sown crops in Southeast Europe, and drought in Ukraine and Russia's grain-producing regions. The longer-term weather forecast predicts a warm autumn with potentially less rainfall in the Balkans and more in North-West Europe.
