Recently, 13.3 tons of fresh grapes from Dunhuang, Gansu, passed the inspection and quarantine of the Dunhuang Airport Customs under Lanzhou Customs, and were shipped from Shenzhen Shekou Port, successfully exported to Panama. This marks the first time Dunhuang grapes have been exported to the American market, signifying the further expansion of local specialty fruits into the international market.
"Previously, we were not very familiar with the entry standards of the target countries," said Zhai Kaijun, the business manager of Gansu Benyuanxing Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. "The Dunhuang Airport Customs visited us multiple times, providing explanations and technical guidance. They not only assisted us in completing the registration of the export fruit orchards and packaging factories, but also conducted declaration training, enhancing our confidence in developing the international market."
Currently, the grape planting area in Dunhuang City has reached 67,000 acres, and the locally produced "Red Globe" grapes (also known as Dunhuang Red Seedless) are deeply loved by consumers both domestically and internationally. To ensure the smooth export of Dunhuang grapes, the Dunhuang Airport Customs actively played the role of young cadres, organizing the "Youth Shock Troop" to go deep into the fields, carrying out "delivering policies at the doorstep" and "on-site office" activities, widely collecting enterprise needs, and implementing targeted guidance. The customs also urged enterprises to strictly implement quarantine measures from raw material acceptance, processing, packaging to storage and transportation, strengthening the traceability prevention and control of harmful organisms, ensuring that the exported grapes meet the inspection and quarantine requirements of the destination country.
In addition, the customs implemented full-process supervision of the planting, harvesting, packaging, and transportation links, established a "Green Channel for Local Inspection and Quarantine of Fresh Perishable Agricultural Food Products," providing priority inspection and "5+2" appointment inspection services, ensuring the rapid clearance and fresh export of grapes.
