As of March 10, 2024, durian prices in Vietnam remain high, with Ri6 durian priced at 142,000 VND/kg and Thai durian at 200,000 VND/kg. In 2023, Vietnam overtook Chile to become the second-largest exporter of fruits and vegetables to China, largely due to a surge in durian exports. Vietnamese durian imports to China reached 493 thousand tons, worth 2.1 billion USD, an increase of over 1,000% compared to 2022. The country is currently negotiating with China to export more products, including frozen durian, avocado, and passion fruit.
