The National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) has reported a significant activity in the first four months of the year, with a total of 188,186 tons of fruits and vegetables exported primarily from the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén, as per the article. These exports were distributed to over 50 countries, with Brazil, Russia, the United States, Paraguay, Bolivia, Mexico, Italy, Peru, Canada, and Ecuador accounting for 90% of the total. The Port of San Antonio Este and the Villa Regina and Centenario Phytosanitary Reserves played crucial roles in the certification and export of various fruits like pears, apples, plums, peaches, and cherries, as well as onions. Senasa also highlighted the issuance of 7,420 phytosanitary certificates for products under export programs and work plans agreed with third countries, underscoring the importance of international trade in the agricultural sector.
