Durum wheat exports from Kazakhstan fell 3.5 times

In October, Kazakhstan exported 2,400 tons of durum wheat (excluding the EAEU). This is 3.4 times less than in September and 12 times less than in October last year, according to Evgeniy Karabanov, head of the analytical committee of the Kazakhstan Grain Union. In the first two months of the 2025/26 marketing year (September – October), durum wheat exports totaled 10,500 tons, which is 3.6 times less than in the same period last year. “The main buyer, Italy, purchased only 0.8 thousand tons, which is half as much as in September 2025 and 22.5 times less than in October 2024,” noted Evgeniy Karabanov. In addition, Kazakh durum wheat exports in October were to Latvia (900 tons, a 9.2-fold decrease year-on-year) and Uzbekistan (500 tons, a 67% increase).
