Mango has become one of the top 10 most popular fruits in the Netherlands since 2020, with a 35% increase in imports between 2017 and 2022. Brazil and Peru are significant suppliers of mangoes to the Dutch trade. Dutch consumers eat an average of 1 kilo of mangoes per year, surpassing the consumption of mangoes in Germany, the UK, and France, but still lower than in the United States where the annual consumption is 1.7 kilos per person. Approximately 30% of Dutch households occasionally or regularly purchase mangoes, and over half of the mangoes available in Dutch supermarkets are ready to eat.
