Mexico's Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, Víctor Villalobos, has participated in the inauguration of the Mexico Pavilion at Foodex Japan 2021, marking a step forward in resuming commercial activities and promoting opportunities for national producers in the Japanese market and the Asian region. The pavilion serves as a crucial space for Mexican companies to access the Japanese market and strengthen their export presence in East Asia. The government is implementing strategies to benefit the agri-food sector, leveraging the Mexico-Japan Economic Association Agreement and the Comprehensive and Progressive Treaty of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TIPAT). The country's high standard of food safety and quality position it as a significant exporter, with small and medium-scale producers receiving institutional support to compete in attractive markets like Japan, South Korea, and China.
