Ecuadorian banana exports continue on a growth path, recording their third consecutive month of increase and consolidating a significant recovery despite climate challenges. Through May 2025, the country exported 174.79 million boxes, representing a 5.89% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, reported the Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador (AEBE). This momentum responds to greater demand from key markets such as the European Union, Russia, Asia, Middle East, and the United States, which have sustainably absorbed the additional volume. In total, Ecuador managed to place 15.86 million additional boxes in the international market compared to 2024. The rebound has been especially notable in the European Union and Russia, which together increased their imports by more than 7.3 million boxes.
