(Agraria.pe) Banana exports from Ecuador accumulated between January and June 2025 reached 199.75 million boxes of 18.14 kg, representing a growth of 5.82% compared to the same period in 2024, according to figures from the Coordination Office of Statistics of ACORBANEC. The European Union consolidated itself as the main destination for Ecuadorian fruit, with an increase of 8.35% in its purchases, highlighting countries such as Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Greece, Malta, and France. This was followed by Russia (+10.72%), the Middle East (+12.54%), the United States (+8.63%), East Asia (+22.69%), and the Southern Cone, where Argentina had a growth of 29.69%. Also standing out in banana exports were China (+44.64%), Turkey (+34.89%), Sweden (+10.71%), and Saudi Arabia (+10.22%).
