In 2021, Ecuador's cocoa bean exports were certified at 331,028.57 tons, valued at approximately $758 million, marking a 2% increase from the previous year, according to Agrocalidad. The quality of the certified cocoa was 81% fine aroma and 19% CCN-51, and it was exported to 40 countries. Agrocalidad also registered 14,433 cocoa operators and conducted 3,567 inspections, ensuring the required quality and phytosanitary standards for export.
