EDB joins forces with WFP to fortify wheat flour in Tajikistan

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will support wheat-flour fortification in Tajikistan, Trend reports via the EDB. The agreement was formally signed by Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Adham Mussallam, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director in Tajikistan. According to the EDB, the initiative is designed to address micronutrient deficiencies by increasing the use of fortified wheat flour. As part of the grant, milling plants will receive premix dispensers and laboratory equipment, while technical personnel will undergo training. The bank anticipates that these measures will enhance operational efficiency and promote the wider production and consumption of fortified flour across the country.
