The Governor of Edirne, Yunus Sezer, has initiated a project to transform the city into Turkey's breeding heifer production center. The project, which has been adopted by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı and will receive funding from Ziraat Bank, aims to meet Turkey's heifer demand and potentially export to the Middle East and Europe. The project also includes pasture improvement works to enhance animal husbandry, with a pilot application already underway in 10 villages and plans to implement a pasture irrigation project in İpsala Paşaköy.
