Kabardino-Balkaria (KBR) has become Russia's top region for fruit and berry production, boasting over 0.5 million tons from the organized sector last year. The visit by the Russian Minister of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, highlighted discussions on enhancing the agro-industrial complex and providing state support to farmers. The region has experienced a notable agricultural boom, including a 40% increase in wheat and soybean production, and has efficiently utilized federal funding for further agricultural and rural development. Additionally, the region excels in livestock farming and leads in various food product productions within its federal district. Efforts to support the agricultural sector include subsidies for livestock breeding, land reclamation projects, and reimbursements for grain production costs, aiming to boost productivity, ensure sustainability, and alleviate financial burdens for farmers.
