Due to the Russian invasion, Ukraine's fruit and vegetable market has undergone significant changes, transitioning from an exporting to an importing country in 2022. The demand for various vegetables and fruits surged, particularly carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage, with Moldova, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, North Macedonia, and Turkey being the primary suppliers. The import of persimmons and grapes saw a decline, with Azerbaijan, Spain, Moldova, and Turkey being the former's main suppliers and Moldova and Turkey supplying the latter. The surge in demand for imported produce, especially cabbage, is attributed to the quality concerns about locally grown produce.
